With an extensive background in both public and private programs, Robert Parkinson, joins The Beachcomber following a consultant role in quality assurance, guiding programs in compliance procedures for licensure. With the Florida Department of Children and Family Services, he has been responsible for licensing and regulating over 150 treatment programs in South Florida.
Robert has worked in the field of addictions since 1985 when he was employed by Conifer Park, a 100-bed treatment center for drug and alcohol dependency in New York. As senior therapist he was assigned to adolescent care. In 1992 he worked for Phoenix House in Arizona. It was the first therapeutic community established within the prison system. In 2005, Robert completed his Master's degree in social work at the University of Phoenix. He had also obtained his certification as an addictions counselor in 1995 from the state of New York.
Robert is an Anger Management counselor and is widely recognized for the Anger Program he originated. Featuring a strong spiritual component it has been presented to numerous religious communities and churches in Palm Beach County. |
